Product Overview
An irregular zine about bike travel and adventures! With Bummel, they want to inspire you to go bikepacking or start procrastinating by sketching out some ambitious and adventurous route of your own!
The aim of Bummel is to entertain and maybe even make you laugh, tell a story and share some pics; Cycle touring shouldn't be a chore, it should fun!
The route for issue 1 was pieced together with the idea of connecting up some places that the great writer Ernest Hemingway visited during his lifetime. He was a great fan of Spain, visiting often and described it once as 'the last good country left'.
These tours have been completed by Tom Owen (writer) and Matt Grayson (photographer) and the zine's are packed with gorgeous imagery and some interesting observations - A fantastic read too!
In issue 2 the guys visit North Macedonia - Exploring Spomeniks, soviet-era brutalist concrete monuments built when Macedonia was part of Yugoslavia.
These space-age sculptures provide the waypoints on a seven-day, wild camping adventure around the small European country – Where they encountered wild bears, enormous fresh-water lakes, amazing mountain scenery amid the remnants of a lost nation.
Bummel focuses on telling the story of a single trip in each issue. The zine is proudly made in the UK, produced in the Peak District between Sheffield and Manchester.
