A modernly gorgeous friction thumb shifter set from Dia-Compe that provides enough cable pull to shift through an 11 speed drivetrain. Perfect for putting a big cassette on bikes that otherwise have a classic aesthetic.
These thumbie's are great for flat bar Gravel, MTB and Touring rigs, strong and sturdy, it's built to last.
Dia-Compe's aluminium CNC 'thumbies' fit 22.2, 23.8 or 26.0mm bars. So they come with shims.
Power ratchet friction control (Non-Index type)
They work with 8-speed to 11-speed drive systems and most common derailleurs.
Price Per Pair.
Metal cable ferrules and gear outer is best and a light oil should be applied to the inner cable when installing - This promotes life and helps keep the moisture out.
Top Tip - Pop a little Loc-Tite on the D-ring bolt threads, this will unsure the bolt does not rock loose when riding the rough stuff.
Please Note - We have tried this in the workshop with a few different mechs, and found that it shifts with no problems - However you should match the speed of the cassette to the speed of your mech - EG - 11 speed cassette matched an with 11 speed mech.
The reason for this, is that some 10 speed mechs are built in such a way that no matter how much the limit screw is out, it cannot stretch to 11.
And this can be true for others, like a 9 speed mech shifting with a 11 speed cassette - The mech just cant manage.
But then using a 9 speed mech with a 10 speed cassette could be fine. It very much depends on mech spec and cassette ratio.
Unfortunately we have not been able to try them all, yet......
