Like many fabrics, the patina develops with more and more use, in the same manner that leather ages and burnishes. Over time canvas bags develop a well-worn, gorgeous and comfortable patina.
This wax will help your bags last longer, by adding a protective layer - Of course over time you will have to re-wax your gear.
You should typically re-wax a canvas bag once a year for regular use, or every 2 to 3 years if it sees light use. Instead of keeping to a strict schedule, re-wax based on fabric performance: If the canvas looks dry, faded, or stops repelling water - It's time for a new coat.

Preferred application method is as follows -
- Clean dirt/mud/grease from pack using water, a very small amount of detergent/soap, and a soft or medium bristle brush. Allow pack to fully dry.
- Heat canvas using hair dryer
- Apply light layer of wax using rag
- Heat canvas again to allow the wax to flow and fully soak into the canvas
- Work in sections until all of the pack is refreshed!
