Product Overview

From SimWorks -

The new outer cable housing "CRISPER" has been jointly developed by SimWorks and Nissen Cable and is based on the reliability of conventional stainless steel outer. But this model has been created as an option for users who want more sensitive operation and high-precision shifting / braking performance.

With recent 11-13 speed drivetrains and mechanical disc brakes, the precision of the inner and outer cable is directly linked to the feel of the operation. CRISPER reduces "stroke loss (operation loss due to compression)" by increasing the thickness of the inner coil and narrowing the spacing between the windings.

This allows for more accurate transmission of lever movement, making even precise shift adjustments smoother - The lever touch also changes sharply when braking.

Made from stainless steel coil wire, this outer offers better rust resistance and is generally harder wearing - Finished with a transparent coating and polyethylene inner liner, making the lever pull lighter.

The outer diameter is 4mm and you can use 1.2mm inner wire.

Length : 3m

Included Accessory : Aluminium outer cap (4pcs)

From Us -

Even though electronic shifting and hydro brakes are becoming more mainstream, SimWorks values "the feel of control at your fingertips and a comfortable ride feeling" for riders who love mechanical systems. CRISPER is not an upgraded version of conventional products, but look at it as a refined option that meets higher demands.

*This stainless outer cable for shift is different from an "SIS style" conduit type (a type of forming wires in straight vertical line). Coil form has an advantage of its flexibility, but a conduit type has less stroke loss. If you are setting up more finicky drivetrains, such as those now equipped with 10, 11 or 12 speeds for Drop Bars - You may have difficulties keeping optimal shift performance in adjustment when using this housing.

For riders running 3-9 speed systems or friction shift set ups - Look no further.

We've tried this outer with 12 speed Shimano XT and works great! However the Shimano blue inner gear cables are dog s*** and we would recommend swapping them out for the SimWorks inners or the Jagwire Pro Slick Stainless or Ultra Slick Stainless inners. The problem with Shimano inners is that they are coated not polished, SimWorks and Jagwire are polished - And over time, that coating wears off in the outer.

Pro Tip - Use a light oil (like 10 weight engine oil) when installing the inner into the outer as this will help to keep moisture out and promote a longer life.
