The Tektro R559 is an updated version of their R556 brake. It has a new QR mechanism to open for wider tyres without deflating them. It still has the 55-73mm reach range and Tektro cartridge pads.
It's perfect for those who like to run big tyres and for converting 700c frames for 650b wheels. While they won't have quite the stopping power or modulation of top quality centerpulls or cantis, these are really well made brakes with a nice quick release and the extra power of dual pivots.
We stock them in both the modern allen head recessed mount and traditional nylock nutted mount.
